From G-SHOCK, which never stops evolving in its quest for toughness, the G-STEEL features a “Layer Guard Structure”. By using different materials for the bezel together with a two-layer construction, the shock-resistant design is further enhanced. Where metal (stainless steel) is used for the upper part of the bezel, a cushioning resin is applied beneath it; conversely, where resin is used on top, a fine resin is combined below to absorb impacts coming from above, allowing far greater design freedom.

This model is equipped with Multi Band 6 technology, which receives signals from six transmitters around the world, as well as Tough Solar functionality. It also offers a one-push hand retraction function, which temporarily moves the hour and minute hands out of the way for easier reading of the LCD display. A double LED light brightly illuminates the dial.
